Visionary founder, Melissa Pringle, built her business Compost Carpool, to eliminate food waste. As she began collecting waste for use in compost, she stumbled on something interesting: Roughly 15% of the produce collected was deemed unsellable, but was still edible. She founded the Compost Carpool Food Project as a food rescue effort, getting edible produce into the hands of those who needed it most. The Mission of CC Food Project would be to offer useable produce, educate the community on canning, fermentation and preservation of nutrient-rich foods, and ultimately to bring food deserts to an end by bringing communities together.

In 2025, she hired me to relaunch her branding efforts, which she would use to collect food donations, grow a volunteer base, and provce a model that could be replicated in other large cities.
